We had planned to drink in our local student pub The Bot, but we failed to account for the fact that the night before St. Paddy’s day was likely to be chaos. Sure enough, upon arriving into Belfast at 23:15 we were met by hordes of steaming students queuing onto the street outside every bar in the university area. We started to panic slightly as failure to get a pint in Antrim could spell disaster for the trip before it even got off the ground. Fortunately, we found Bar Twelve where there was room to stagger and the bouncer even took a photo of us.
